Keep in Mind

This article applies to clients using ePayPolicy’s CheckMate feature with a lockbox provided by ePay.

At times, individuals may reach out concerned about a check mailed to your lockbox that seems to be missing. However, it's important to remember that sometimes checks simply haven't arrived at the designated PO box yet. Here’s how you can track the status of your mailed check, understand typical delivery times, and address any concerns:

Tracking Checks

If you have a tracking number, you can easily monitor the status of your mailed check using the USPS Tracking Tool. This provides real-time updates on a mailed item's whereabouts.

Additionally, you can refer to USPS Typical Delivery Times to estimate when your check is expected to arrive.

Staying Informed About Service Delays

Check the USPS service alerts page and USPS service alerts map for any known delays at the mailing location or the destination lockbox. This helps you stay informed about any potential delays that could affect the delivery of your check.

If You Suspect a Check is Missing

Missing Mail refers to any mail that hasn’t been delivered by the expected date, including checks that may be undelivered, lost, or delayed. If a mailed check hasn't arrived within 7 days of the expected delivery date, you can request a search for the missing mailpiece.

Visit MissingMail.USPS.com to initiate the search process. You’ll need to provide essential details such as the mailer and recipient addresses, date of mailing, and tracking number if available. It’s also helpful to provide a detailed description of the contents to aid in the search process. If you prefer speaking directly with a USPS representative, you can reach out to theUSPS support line at 1-800-222-1811.
